Time to say farewell to the Bulls Nose

Bulls Nose Cape ClearFrom Tomorrow, Tuesday 10 June 2014 the shape of one of the most iconic man made landmarks on the Island is due to change for ever as work commences on the reshaping of the Bulls Nose. New Slip Cape Clearthe proposed new dock gate. Apparently this will be a substantial undertaking involving the casting of the concrete sections elsewhere to be floated into position and then sunk. We look forward to a very special day on Cape Clear Island later this Summer when the largest single engineering event in the history of the Island is planned to coincide with suitably calm weather conditions and very much hope for a successful outcome. Meanwhile we show a photo of the new slip which gives some idea of its impressive size and width which should be fit for purpose for many many years to come.
